Jon Cowdrill: Director, Installer, Designer

Jon was born in “down south” and lived and worked in East London for many years. He gained a passion for renewable energy after completing a Masters in 2008. He was then lucky enough to work for one of the first MCS approved solar installers in the country where he worked for 13 years. In 2018, Jon moved to Sheffield with his wife Rosemary, a local from the city. He now can’t imagine living anywhere else.

Jon loves trail running in the Peaks District, bouldering (mostly at climbing walls), Muay Thai at Sheffield’s famous Wicker Camp gym and the vast array of local, craft beers Sheffield has to offer. In 2024, Jon and Rosemary welcomed their baby daughter, and Jon is now more committed than ever to contributing to Sheffield's sustainability and resilience through renewable energy solutions.

Chris Walker: Director, Installer, Electrician,

Jan was born in Derby and moved to Sheffield in 2017 to study Biomedical Science. An impressive climber, Jan spends most of his free time perfecting his skills, though he also enjoys playing "real-time strategy" games on his PC. He continues to enjoy climbing in the Peak District most weeks.

In Sheffield, Jan met his partner, Daniel, who went on to complete a PhD in retrofitting commercial buildings to improve their energy efficiency. Together, they became a sustainability power couple when Jan transitioned into solar energy in 2021.

Jan quickly earned a reputation as an excellent Project Manager, with a talent for both overseeing projects and providing hands-on assistance during installations. His deep knowledge of the solar industry makes him an invaluable asset, and he is eager to take on larger and more complex installations.

Jan Wilson: Director, Installer, Project Manager

Chris grew up in Sheffield, where, as a teenager, he spent his summer holidays helping his best friend’s dad with re-wires and other electrical work. After completing his A-Levels, Chris moved to Romania to support a homeless charity. A natural linguist, he fully immersed himself in the community and became fluent in Romanian. During his time there, Chris married his partner, Aoife, and they now have two wonderful children together.

Upon returning to Sheffield, Chris formalized his electrical experience and became a fully qualified electrician. He worked on commercial electrical installations at railway depots before focusing on solar energy, spending years installing solar panel and battery systems.

Today, Chris is an expert in installing a wide range of systems, from simple string inverters and micro-inverters to optimizers, backup battery systems, and electric vehicle charging points.
